The Getting Started course was my first kink event or training of any kind, and I didn’t know anything or anyone beforehand. The instructors are very clearly building a safe, fun, and intentional community. The in-person course almost wholly focused on consent, communication, community norms, and safety. Most rope instruction was in online videos, which worked well so I could pause the video while I worked on the rope mechanics. Then there was a clear pathway toward the Merry Go Round in person event, which was a spectacular way for me to meet other people. In just 2 months, I have learned the basic ties, tied about 15 people through a couple of Merry Go Round events and subsequent practices, and have met people who want to be ongoing tying partners — and I’ve had a lot of fun! That’s a spectacular success.

The 201 Intensive course is amazing!! This is definitely a more advanced course that has a lot of information. It has been nearly a month since I’ve completed the course and am still processing some of the lessons that were taught in the course. There were several eye-opening “Ah-ha!”; moments in the class. Be prepared to have many of your preconceived notions challenged and you’ll grow because of it. I was very thankful to have an amazing partner for the class. Be sure the person you are tying with is someone you can trust and in turn can trust you back. Good communications and chemistry makes the class significantly better.
