I learned a lot and really enjoyed myself. I didn’t know the basics of ropes and it was helpful to have a clear outline (including a handout with takeaways), kind presenters who were happy to answer questions, and a comfy and pretty space. Much of what we discussed really helped to put into context things I had just heard a little about or had passing familiarity with, so the extra context really helped me to feel confident and more comfy getting deeper into this community. The clear guidelines given (including giving examples of contrasts between the vanilla and kink world, where certain expectations and norms may be opposites) was extremely helpful as a person who knows I benefit from very clear structures and instructions.

I attended the beginner class and found it highly informative, even though I have been a bottom previously and had some experience. I am excited to attend future events and continue to learn more within this great community. Give them a try, you won’t regret it!

I’ve lived all over the country, and have been involved in the kink community for numerous years. ATU’s intro class is something I wish I had 15 years ago when I was getting into all of this. As someone new to the scene this would be helpful, and as someone trying to find like-minded people in the area this really showed me that this was a safe place to continue learning and playing!
