I attended the getting started class and the lab to follow as my first ever event in this community. I was nervous. I am an introvert and did not know what to expect. I felt so comfortable and feel so grateful I did it. The class was wonderful. Renee and Dan are both so passionate and respectful and playful. I felt their joy as well as their desire to create a safe experience for all. It was supportive, informative, and inspiring. I feel nothing but excitement to attend another event.

Dan, Renee, and their staff created a safe, fun, and informative introduction to the kink community. My wife and I attended one of the introductory courses and the subsequent tutorial of basic ties. Renee led the classroom portion, which prioritized safety through real world examples. In the tying tutorial Dan took the time to ensure slower riggers (myself included) were caught up to the rest of the class. In addition to the in-person courses, the online classes were very useful. My one note is that the time between the classroom portion and tutorial is only ~15 minutes so make sure to pack snacks/coffee. Regardless of what your end goal is in kink, All Tied Up is a great place to start (and continue learning).

Renee and Dan gave a very honest and thorough intro to what shibari is and what rope play means including safety, ethics and terminology in the community. Afterwards it was fun to do a lab where we could practice some intro skills. It was most welcoming for newbies, even for those with zero experience in kink or any previous experience in the communities. It was a very comfortable environment where privacy and safety were a top concern and you could tell that fun and a family type atmosphere were definatly encouraged on site.

The skills that you can learn in this class are the ones that you can use forever.

Overall ATU has built an amazing community and offers a lot of great classes where you can grow your skills and meet new tieing partners. Recently they have started the Dark Circus BDSM parties which have been amazing!! The atmosphere, the vibe, the food, the energy… It’s all superb. Plus the themes have been so fun! I can’t wait for next months party!
